How is everyone? I haven't posted in a while as I've been pretty busy... being unemployed...and... well, nothing. Look, sorry we didn't talk, let's be friends again? okay? alright!

So, I started my job at Target yesterday as a security dude. It's pretty awesome, everybody is really nice and enthusiastic there. I think I'm really going to enjoy this job moreso than any other before this. Beyond that, I can't say anything, confidentiality. You know how that goes. =)

Next order, Warhammer 40k. I went to the first match of a campaign tournament a local shop is holding. First round, open field, artillery based army vs my Orks. I fell on my face. Worst loss of the night for anyone there. Ouch. Oh well, roll with the losses and keep playing. Get better or die, right?

And lastly, I'm gonna throw this out there. Sorry to whoever is watching this blog.

Good News: I got a job! I'm going to be security at a Target department store here in town. Which is great! I love crimefighting and doling out blind justice (like Daredevil, HI OH!).

Why haven't you been updating Shane?! Dubya Tee Eff, bro?

I'll tell you why, I've been doing alot of painting. Warhammer painting, not that fruity legit painting that could actually be displayed in a gallery, no sir. Sorry. I've been pretty busy doing stuff, like painting and working and painting. Anyway, let me explain the title of this entry.

Jobless - I no longer make pizza's for a living. Business slowed down and I got laid off. It blows, but my manager chose a pretty good time to call me as I was eating great mexican food after a successful campaign against my friend with my new orks (that means I beat him at Warhammer 40k).

Mobless- This is in regards to those Orks. It's not really a big deal, I just don't have all the pieces I'd like for my green tide. The Rood Boyz (clan name of MY orks) will grow and prosper and mash up everyt'ing.

Green Gob-less - I don't know how many of you are currently reading Amazing Spider-Man (which is amazing by the way) but I'm really not a fan of the new Thunderbolts, who are currently hunting down the spider. I like the original Thunderbolts (Citizen V, Atlas, Techno, Mach, etc.) and their slight alterations (Smuggler, Jolt, Charcoal, Hawkeye) and I like Spider-Man villains, like Green Goblin and Venom. But, with these new* Tbolts I'm getting Norman NOT as GG, and some mook in the symbiote. blah. Good story, just wish it had more Green Goblin action.

*I know they aren't THAT new.

Continuing on, my friend Jesse is graduating from Art Institute in about 10 days, so, let's all give a big hand for him!

People Marketing

Just saw this at the bottom of my MSN box.

"Appearance: Attractive"

Oh thank god. "Great, Shane, why should I give half a shit?"

Well, I'll tell you, this means that Starbucks is trying to get rid of whatever CD's they have left, and let me tell you, there are some good ones. These CD's normally would retail for 14 (16 if you're Canadian, suckers), but since they want this junk out, it's only 8 bucks.

I picked up One Step Beyond: The Unstoppable Sound of Reggae and Ska as I'm a fan of both genres. I had to, its got Desmond Dekker, The Heptones, The Specials, Madness and a few others. The last two being two of my all time favorite bands. They had some seemingly good jazz collections as well.

So get out there and support the dead limb of the Starbucks coffee monster. Which, for the most part, is anything. Again as some, all or none of you know, I'm quite the comic book enthusiast and a few of you expected this to be a blog solely dedicated to that, which I just couldn't do in good sense (I just can't compete with the spectacle that is Absorbascon). So, I'll make my first legitimate post about something besides something entirely predictable.

A hardcore band.

So, tie up those bandana's, start fighting the invisible ninjas, and get to picking those cherries/pulling down those chains.

Adult Swim seems to frequently have ads on for this band, or whatever site it is thats pushing the free download, at least when I watch it (which is infrequently). So I said "alright internet, I'll take you up on that offer, noob" and I did. About 10 minutes ago I finished the download and listened to the first track only. This is entirely based on the first track, by itself, as an introduction of the uninitiated to hardcore and Don The Reader, henceforth DTR (because I'm to fucking hip to NOT abbreviate)

As a fan of Mastodon, and other equally heavy bands, far be it from me to begrudge the guttural vocals, which i wont. I appreciate gruff, intense screaming, even if it IS sometimes off time. The band itself, instrumentally, is also comparable to Mastodon once again (which i hate to continue to compare them to, differing genres and all). But I think it is well executed, if hinting on stereotypics.

My point is DTR has quite a bit going on musically in this first track, its an excellent start.
It's got a strong punch and an intriguing opening, which begins sounding like a live recording, which is obviously isn't. After listening to the first track a few times, I'm intrigued enough to listen to the rest without any bias as to what may come.

As for this post itself, in my head it was planned out to be funnier. Maybe a few more quips here and there, less analytics. but all in all I'm pleased with my first ACTUAL post. The next few will be more entertaining (read: less dry). I guess I just felt the need to actual pick apart this track and am sincerely interested.

First Post!

Alright, starting this thing up I suppose.

so, blogs? amirite?
